Special Education Overview

The School Programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute has been named a 2012 Leadership and Innovation in Special Education Awardee by the National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC).

At Kennedy Krieger Institute, parents and caregivers will find a wide range of educational programs and services to support the inclusion of children with special needs. These programs and services are offered through our nationally recognized day schools in Baltimore, Washington DC, and our partnership programs in public schools across Maryland.

All of the programs and services we provide emphasize an individualized approach to education that meets state and federal mandates with the goal of preparing students to transition back to their communities and lead successful lives. The knowledge our education professionals have gained through their unique experiences is also shared through our educational training and consulting programs, as well as our work with the Maryland State Department of Education.
