Trajectory of Transition in Adolescents and Young Adults with Spina Bifida

Principal Investigator: Eric Levey

The purpose of this interdisciplinary research project is to pilot an innovative multi-site study of the experiences, needs, and factors associated with positive transition in adolescents and young adults with spina bifida. Specific aims of this research include the following: 1) to determine the feasibility of collecting multi-site data for this population; 2) to begin to quantify the trajectory of transition in self-management activities; and, 3) to identify factors associated with successful transition outcomes.

Data will be collected through a questionnaire packet, clinical interview and chart review. Three study visits be required at time 0, 18 months and 3 years.
