TF-CBT Effectiveness Study

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based mental health treatment designed for children who have experienced traumatic life events. Children at the Kennedy Krieger Family Center (KKFC) receive TF-CBT on a clinician available basis. The TF-CBT Effectiveness Study will evaluate the effectiveness of this intervention in children with a history of trauma who have been treated at the KKFC compared to children who have experienced trauma who were not in TF-CBT. Data analysis will be performed in a post hoc fashion. The study hypothesis is that children treated with TF-CBT will have improved six month behavior and parenting stress outcomes compared to children who are receiving standard care at KKFC.
