Spinal Fluid Research Database Transfer

From 2004 until 2007, Dr. Daniel Becker was the principal investigator for creating a tissue repository for spinal fluid samples at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. The samples were collected in a de-identified manner to serve as controls for our clinical trials then. The samples were collected without a clinical consent. Each sample was assigned a unique identifier and cannot be traced back to the donor anymore.

Collection of samples was closed when Dr. Becker left Vanderbilt in 2007. Dr. Becker intends to move the complete repository to Kennedy Krieger Institute. It contains a total of 400 samples. His plan is to use these samples as normal control values for his ongoing and upcoming clinical trials.
