Risk factors for persistent self injury
Principal Investigator: Patricia Kurtz
The purpose of this study is to assess 5 factors believed to be related to the persistence of self-injurious behavior (SIB): parenting practices, child communication, parent depression, parent stress, and lack of social support. Furthermore, we also intend to determine if parenting practices and child communication are more positively correlated with SIB.
For this longitudinal study, enrollment is now closed. Coding of the videotaped observation data and data analyses will be continued during this report period.
