Incidence of Osteoporosis in Patients with Chronic Spinal Cord Dysfunction
Principal Investigator: Cristina Sadowsky
Research Question: Prevalence of osteoporosis in patients with traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injury.
Secondary Question: Relationship between bone mass, injury level and grade (ASIA), total and lower extremities motor score, ambulatory status, Functional Electrical Stimulation cycling status, time from injury; calcium, vitamin D and biphosphonate intake; 25(HO) vitamin D3 and number of sub-lesional fractures.
We propose to answer these questions by performing a chart review of patient records in the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury.
