Expression of NGN3 in normal adult human pancreas

NGN3 is thought to be expressed only in the fetal pancreas. We have found strong nuclear expression of NGN3 in human pathological pancreas biopsies and in biopsies of "normal" tissue obtained during biopsy procedures. We now seek to determine if NGN3 is expressed in healthy adult human pancreas. If it is not expressed in health adult pancreas, it may be a marker of pancreatic damage that extends outside the pathological region.
