Cystic Fibrosis and Behavioral Caregiver Training: A Clinic-Based Intervention
The purpose of this pilot study is to examine the feasibility and potential benefits of a clinic-based collaborative behavioral and nutrition intervention that targets improvements in BMI percentile for age in a sample of 3-8 year old children with CF and their families. This is a behavioral intervention targeting nutrition. The behavioral treatment group (BEH) will be compared with a clinic control group. Treatments will occur over a one year period. We hypothesize the following: That the intervention group (BEH) will achieve significantly greater improvement in daily caloric intake, BMI and lung functioning as compared to children in the control group.
