Child Attitudes Towards Drug Use Risk
Examine the responses of children treated at the JHH Adolescent clinic towards drug use and drug use risk. Baseline responses of children, ages 10-14 years, on a Project Alert: Survey of Student Attitudes and Behaviors will be compared between a group of children whose mothers are in a drug recovery program and children who attend the Harriet Lane clinic whose biological parents do not have a history of drug or alcohol abuse. It is hypothesized that children of parents who have a history of drug use will be more knowledgeable about the adverse effects of drug use, yet more tolerant of alcohol, cigarette, and marijuana use.
