Autism and the Development of Relational Awareness

Aims of the proposed research are:

to test hypotheses about a deficit in understanding the relationship between objects (e.g., stimulus and reward) in autism, and how this relates to rule learning in autism;
to systematically tease apart and define the developmental progression in the ability to grasp the relation between stimulus and reward; and
to determine whether grasping the relation between stimulus and reward might be part of a more general developmental progression in the ability to grasp the relation between one thing to another
