IDDRC Translational Neuroscience Core Faculty

Michael V. Johnston, M.D., serves as a co-director of the Translational Neuroscience Core. He is a professor of Neurology, Pediatrics, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins and the chief medical officer of Kennedy Krieger Institute. He has considerable experience in both laboratory and clinical research related to neurodevelopmental disorders and directs an active laboratory focused on neuroprotection for brain injury from asphyxia and related disorders. He is also the director of the Clinical Trials Unit at Kennedy Krieger, which carries out a variety of industry and NIH sponsored trials. 

Mary E. Blue, Ph.D., is a co-director of the Translational Neuroscience Core. She also directs the Brain Histology and Imaging Facility at Kennedy Krieger and is an associate professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Paul A. Watkins, M.D., Ph.D., is a co-director of the Translational Neuroscience Core  and director of the Lipid Enzymology Laboratory at Kennedy Krieger. He is also a professor of Neurology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Richard I. Kelley M.D., Ph.D., is a Translational Neuroscience Core co-investigator and director of the Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at Kennedy Krieger. He is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Mary Ann Wilson, Ph.D., is a Translational Neuroscience Core co-investigator and co-director of the Brain Histology and Imaging Facility at Kennedy Krieger. She is also an associate professor in the departments of Neurology and Neuroscience at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
