IDDRC Genetics Core Faculty

David Valle, M.D. is a co-director of the Genetics Core. He is a professor of Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and Molecular Biology and Genetics, and is the director of the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Dr. Valle is also the principal investigator of The Center for Inherited Disease Research (CIDR), a centralized facility providing high throughput genotyping and related services for supported investigators.  

Denise A.S. Batista, Ph.D. is a co-director of the Genetics Core. She is an associate professor in the Department of Pathology at Johns Hopkins, with a joint appointment in the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine. She is also the director of the Cytogenetics and Microarray Laboratory at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Jonathan Pevsner, Ph.D. is a Genetics Core co-investigator. He is an associate professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, with joint appointments in the Division of Health Sciences Informatics of The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology in the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
