About Our Program:
This multi-disciplinary outpatient clinic serves children and adolescents who have limb deformities, deficiencies and amputations. Clients may have either congenital (present at birth), post-surgical or trauma related limb differences.
Each client receives a comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations and follow up from a variety of disciplines. The disciplines involved with this clinic are pediatric rehabilitation, prosthetics, occupational therapy, orthopaedic surgery and physical therapy. Consults to additional services such as behavioral psychology are available if needed. Radiology services are also available on site.
The clinic is staffed by Stacy Suskauer, MD (pediatric rehabilitation), John Tis, MD (orthopaedic surgery), Chrissy Gallion (occupational therapy), Mark Hopkins and Angie Swidell (prosthetics). We welcome the participation of outside providers concurrently involved in the clients care to join us in clinic and participate in assessment and development of the treatment plan.
Primary Program Goals:
Limb differences and deficiencies can be complex conditions that present challenges in multiple domains. Our goal is to assist individuals with limb differences in leading healthy and satisfying lives. Through an interdisciplinary approach, we provide quality medical care that focuses on optimizing health and function, and coordination of health care services. In addition to attention to mobility and orthotics needs, the team addresses issues that fall outside the medical domain such as school readiness, vocational training or participation in sports.
Hours of Operation:
One Tuesday afternoon every other month.
