Autism Spectrum Disorders at Kennedy Krieger Institute

At Kennedy Krieger Institute, no one needs to tell the physicians, researchers, educators or therapists that autism figures are growing at an alarming rate. Current statistics predict that one out of every 88 children will be diagnosed with this disorder. Because our physicians and staff members are well aware of the toll that an autism diagnosis can have on a family's life, they are constantly searching for answers to the many questions surrounding this puzzling disorder.

The Institute offers a wide array of innovative diagnostic and treatment services for children who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Our interdisciplinary team of clinicians and therapists employ the latest treatment approaches proven in scientific studies at the Institute and research centers around the world.

In addition, physicians and researchers at Kennedy Krieger are also helping to drive forward the understanding and treatment of autism spectrum disorders through their participation in the Autism Treatment Network and the Interactive Autism Network, an innovative online project designed to accelerate the pace of autism research by linking researchers and those affected by autism spectrum disorders.
