Dr. Ryan Lee is a pediatric neurologist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a faculty instructor in the Department of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and a research associate at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institutes of Health.


Biographical Sketch:

Dr. Lee attended Creighton University and John A. Burns (University of Hawaii) School of Medicine, from which he graduated in 2006. He trained in general pediatrics at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, HI. He then received specialized training in pediatric neurology and neurodevelopmental disabilities at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He is currently a neurologist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He performs clinical evaluation and management of individuals with a variety of neurodevelopmental disabilities.


Research Summary:

Dr. Lee’s research interests focus on children with disorders of the developing nervous system. Specifically, he uses techniques in diffusion tensor imaging to study relationships between brain structure and neurodevelopmental disability in individuals with disorders of cholesterol metabolism, including Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome and Niemann-Pick disease, type C.
