Dr. Onigu-Otite is a member of the faculty and medical director of the Family Center of Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University.


Biographical Sketch:

Dr. Edore Onigu-Otite received her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in biomedical research before attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, where she completed a residency program in general psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. She went on to receive further training in addiction psychiatry at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Adewuya is board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. Dr. Onigu-Otite currently serves as a faculty member and medical director of the Family Center of Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University.


Research Summary:

Dr. Onigu-Otite's research interests include substance use disorders in adolescents and the effect of maternal substance use on maltreatment in young children. She operates a clinic for teenagers suffering from substance abuse at the Family Center of Kennedy Krieger, a center with a focus on the maltreatment in children.
