Festival of Trees is Right Around the Corner
The 18th annual Kennedy Krieger Institute Festival of Trees will be held November 23-25 in the Cow Palace at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. This three-day event is an exciting holiday-themed festival held to raise funds for the research, treatment, education, and community programs of the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimnore.
During the festival, the Cow Palace becomes a winter playground, featuring more than 400 spectacular holiday trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses created by local designers. From members of local Girl Scout Troops to employees at nationally renowned architectural firms, everyone gets in on the fun. Once you've feasted your eyes on the decorations, enjoy the live holiday entertainment from performers, such as the kid's rock group Milkshake, seasonal merchants, a children's craft area, a magical carousel, pony rides, a train garden, and, of course, Santa.
Over the years, Festival of Trees has become an eagerly anticipated holiday tradition for many area families. Why not make it one of your family traditions?

Grand Opening of the Montgomery County School for Students with Autism
This August, Kennedy Krieger opened a new school in Montgomery County, Maryland, designed to serve children and young adults with mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The school, which focuses on students between the ages of 10 to 21, includes several programs committed to helping students achieve their potential and participate as fully as possible in home, school, and community life. The Montgomery County program builds on the success of Kennedy Krieger's longstanding Baltimore area school programs. For more than 30 years, the Kennedy Krieger schools, nationally recognized as Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, have provided innovative educational opportunities for students with learning, emotional, physical, neurological, and developmental disabilities.
