Festival of Trees Opens in Timonium to Benefit Kennedy Krieger Institute

BALTIMORE, MD - Where else can you find over 85 beautifully decorated Christmas trees, 70 hand decorated wreaths, 70 gingerbread houses, 160 shopping booths, a full size musical carousel, a kids sports area, a food court, a miniature train garden, hand crafted gifts, live entertainment, Santa Claus and lots of holiday magic? The answer is Festival of Trees, a winter wonderland being held at the Cow Palace at the Maryland State Fairgrounds from November 24-26 to benefit the Kennedy Krieger Institute. The event runs from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Sunday. A weekend pass for adults is $8.00 and for kids and seniors is $4.00. For more information about the festival, please call 410-502-TREE or visit www.kennedykrieger.org.

Local civic organizations, groups, individuals and businesses will create themed trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses for the festival. Awards will be given to the top designers in each category and trees will be sold to benefit Kennedy Krieger Institute.

This year the event also features a public silent auction where attendees can bid on various items throughout the entire weekend. Items include fine jewelry, artwork, sports memorabilia, children's packages, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets, home interior pieces and collectibles. At the end of the day on Sunday, top bidders can pick-up their item/items at the Festival office at the Fairgrounds.

Kennedy Krieger Institute is dedicated to helping children and adolescents with disabilities, resulting from disorders of the brain, achieve their potential and participate as fully as possible in family, community and school life.
