Kennedy Krieger Experts Featured in National Autism Coverage

|WHAT:||Kennedy Krieger Institute will be highlighted in several of the segments in the NBC Today Show series, "Autism: The Hidden Epidemic." Dr. Rebecca Landa, director of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, touts her early detection and early intervention research studies. Dr. Gary Goldstein, president and CEO of Kennedy Krieger, shares his vision for the future of autism research and treatment. Many Kennedy Krieger families were also highlighted to discuss intervention, advocacy and neuroimaging.
The 10-part series will air at 8:10 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. February 21-25. The series will look at autism from a variety of angles, with segments exploring topics such as etiology, diagnosis, treatment, educational programs, affect on siblings, and how to be an advocate for your child with autism.
Newsweek, partnering with NBC to highlight autism, will hit the newsstands on February 21. This feature story will specifically highlight Dr. Landa's early detection and early intervention studies as part of their coverage of autism.
