REACH: Research and Education for Autism in Children
| Rebecca Landa, Ph.D., CCC | Kennedy Krieger Autism Research featured on ABC World News Tonight |
REACH is the research program that drives CARD’s clinical practice. It includes both federally and privately funded projects to examine causes of and treatments for autism and social communication disorders. REACH consists of a collaborative group of professionals from diverse fields whose work addresses questions related to development and learning in autism from infancy. Neuropsychological bases of autism, neurobiological influences in autism, and efficacy of treatments for autism are also investigated. In 2003, CARD was named one of eight national centers devoted to Studies to Advance Autism Research and Treatment (STAART) and received $7.7 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health.
