This summer at the 3rd Annual Festival of Tees golf tournament, miniature golfers of all ages will tee off in a competition for a good cause. ParTee Golf, in Perry Hall, Maryland, will once again host the tournament on Saturday, August 21. All funds raised from this golfing event will go to the Silberstein-Harryman Endowment at Kennedy Krieger Institute to benefit children with cerebral palsy and spina bifida.

In this presentation, Dr. Freedman will discuss a recent study examining the relationship status of parents of children with autism spectrum disorders. The most commonly cited statistic regarding divorce rates for parents of children with ASD is 80%. However, there is no research to support this statistic and our findings suggest that parents of children with autism remain married at a much higher rate.

Sleep problems are common in typically developing children, and even more common in children with autism. This presentation will review how sleep develops, what sleep problems affect children with autism, and how disorders of sleep can be diagnosed and treated.
Presenter: Dr. Accardo trained in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She completed her Sleep Medicine fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and returned to KKI to establish a sleep disorders clinic and laboratory for children with developmental disabilities.
