The Brachial Plexus Clinic offers multidisciplinary services and innovative techniques for the treatment of brachial plexus injuries and peripheral nerve problems affecting infants, children and adults who may have either birth-related or traumatic brachial plexus injuries. Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations, and follow-up from a variety of disciplines. After the initial evaluation, each patient in the program is evaluated by the complete team. Nerve testing is performed onsite, if it is determined to be necessary. Following the evaluation, the team makes formal recommendations for a treatment plan to the patient and family.
Members of the clinic’s team include specialists in Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Occupational Therapy, Orthopaedic surgery, Neurosurgery, Nursing and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The clinic is staffed by Allan Belzberg, MD (Neurosurgery), Thomas M. Brushart, MD, (Orthopaedic Surgery), Richard J. Redett, MD (Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery), James Christensen, MD (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), and Jennifer Wingrat and Kelly Allen (Occupational Therapy). All surgeons specialize in brachial plexus injuries and have extensive experience.
