Staffing (Licensure):
Programming is supervised by Ph.D.’s licensed by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Therapies are provided by Psychology Associates (Masters level degrees) and Clinical Specialists (Bachelors level degrees) working under the supervision of licensed Ph.D.s.
Our goal is to help children attain and sustain adaptive, healthy, positive behaviors using the principles of applied behavior analysis. We provide assessment and treatment on an outpatient basis at our facilities at Broadway and Triad, at schools and in-home, as well as consultation services to hospitals and other community based programs. Our inpatient programs, The NeuroBehavioral Unit and Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program serve as models of treatment in a medical setting. We are committed to provide the best possible outcomes for children, families, their support systems and their communities through assessment, treatment, parent training, educational and consultative services.
The NeuroBehavioral Unit
The NeuroBehavioral Unit is a 16 bed inpatient program devoted to the assessment and treatment of individuals with severe destructive behaviors including self-injury, aggression, property destruction, pica, non-compliance and tantrums.
The Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program
The Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program, in conjunction with gastroenterology, provides treatment for children with diverse feeding problems such as food refusal, vomiting, failure-to-thrive, G-tube dependence and obesity.

The Day Feeding Program is designed for children with Pediatric Feeding Disorders who do not require round-the-clock medical supervision.

The Pediatric Psychology Clinic and Consultation Service provides behavior analysis and therapy to teach children skills for cooperating and participating at developmentally appropriate levels with medical care. The PPCS also works with children’s families and care-givers to ensure adherence to health care regimens. Additionally, consultative services are provided to other medical and allied health professionals.

Behavior Management Clinic – The Behavior Management Clinic provides services to school-age children with behaviors such as disruption, non-compliance, aggression, tantrums, poor impulse control, sleep problems, toileting difficulties and social skills deficits.Pediatric Psychology Clinic and Consultation Service
Pediatric Developmental Disorders Clinic – The Developmental Disabilities Clinic provides services to patients identified as having developmental disorders in addition to behavioral problems such as self-injury (mild), physical aggression; disruptive behaviors, elopement, property destruction, self-care deficits and problems associated with mood and anxiety disorders.
Child and Family Therapy Clinic – The Child and Family Therapy Clinic provides services to families of children exhibiting a wide range of behavioral problems. The treatment approach emphasizes working with the entire family and community support systems and may include parent training in behavior and stress management, communication training, education in child development and group therapy.

The Department of Behavioral Psychology participates in the Kennedy Krieger/Johns Hopkins Maternal and Child Health Bureau/LEND training program.
The Department of Behavioral Psychology provides training in a 1-year pre-doctoral internship program in professional psychology (APA accredited) and post-doctoral fellowship program in pediatric psychology.
In cooperation with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), the Department of Behavioral Psychology has developed a graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis and serves as the site for student practicum and intervention courses.
